PowerPoint add-in

Live polls inside your PowerPoint slides

Add a slide, pick a poll, present. Results, the join link and a QR code appear right on the slide, and voting opens by itself when the slideshow gets there. Free on every plan.

How to install

  1. Download the add-in file (pingroom-powerpoint.xml).
  2. PowerPoint on the web: open a presentation, then go to Home → Add-ins → More Settings → Upload My Add-in, browse to the file and click Upload. (Clearing your browser data removes it, so upload it again if it disappears.)
  3. Mac: in Finder press Cmd+Shift+G, go to ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Powerpoint/Data/Documents/wef (create the wef folder if it isn’t there) and copy the file in. Restart PowerPoint, open a presentation and pick it from Home → Add-ins.
  4. Windows: put the file in a shared network folder, add that folder under File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings → Trusted Add-in Catalogs, restart PowerPoint, then go to Insert → My Add-ins → Shared Folder.

One-click install from Microsoft's add-in store is coming soon.

How to use it

  1. Create your polls (or a whole session) on your dashboard.
  2. Insert the add-in on a slide, log in once, and pick a poll. Do one slide per question.
  3. Start the slideshow. Each poll goes live when you reach its slide; hover the slide for Lock, Reveal and a big QR code.

FAQ

Is the PowerPoint add-in free?

Yes, on every plan including Free. Your plan only decides how many people can answer each poll.

Which versions of PowerPoint does it work with?

PowerPoint for Windows (Microsoft 365 or 2016 and later), PowerPoint for Mac, and PowerPoint on the web.

Does the poll start by itself?

Yes. When your slideshow reaches the slide, voting opens automatically, the same way changing slides works. You can also click Go live on the slide.

Can someone else present my deck?

Yes. The slide remembers its poll, so a co-presenter can run the deck from their own computer without logging in to your account. If you share the file publicly, delete and recreate the poll to cut off access.

What about Google Slides or Keynote?

Present from Pingroom's full-screen present view in a browser tab and switch to it, or put your join link and QR code on a slide.
